In Memoriam [Jan. 19th, 2009|11:52 pm]
Waiting
It's been seven years since the passing of Robert George Penndorf, the man who helped set me off on the professional journey i've been trying to undertake. Everything i write will be partly because of and partly for him.

so, my classmates made a movie. if you like it, pass it along. [Sep. 29th, 2008|02:50 am]
Waiting

DC Pierson (dcpierson.com) graduated my year and Donald Glover (http://childishgambino.blogspot.com) graduated a couple years ahead. They are very funny and deeply talented people and part of a sketch group.

Derrick (derrickcomedy.com) have made a movie. They need someone to distribute it. So if you like the trailer, please, pass it along, tell others, facebook, lj, digg, twitter, and so on, whatever you want.

Hope all is well.

Screenplay Research Questionnaire (not for the faint of heart) [Feb. 11th, 2008|09:13 pm]
Waiting
Hey all, if anyone has the time to answer this it'd be greatly appreciated. I'm writing a screenplay about a guy who goes into business writing people's suicide notes for them. I'm having trouble writing several of them from my one perspective so am looking for different answers from different people. This is only on a hypothetical level and is not meant to insult or bring up bad thoughts, so "I being of sound mind and body," etc...

Thanks in advanceCollapse )

I hope you've all been well.

sorry, but i've seen a bit too much about this not to weigh in myself [Dec. 8th, 2005|11:58 pm]
Waiting
John Lennon was an artistic genius.
But he was also a neglectful father. Paul did more for John's first son Julian than John himself did.
He wrote "Give Peace A Chance"
But he was an abusive husband, even to his dear Yoko.
He wrote "Imagine."
But he also wrote "Run for your Life." (which i often prefer to the former).
People embrace him as a visionary and ignore the fact that he was a deeply, deeply flawed person. The Beatles are my favorite band and i suspect always will be and John was an excellent solo artist when yoko's influence wasn't too strong, but he was too flawed a person for me to mourn him as i would a deity of some sort.

an entry of the one liner variety extended, another public just for fun. [Nov. 4th, 2005|06:00 pm]

Jesse L Martin is 36. Adam Pascale is 35. Wilson Jermaine Heredia, Anthony Rapp and idina menzel are 34. Taye Diggs is 33. Just a few more things to add to the authentic experience of being a 20-something in Alphabet City that is rent in addition to bullshit deus ex machinas and teen-aged philosophies.

Waiting
coming up on a year since the worst week of my life. of the four episodes i've had, three were in movie theaters. of the three movies, two used violence and gore for a point, be it for character or overall theme. The remaining was pointless and mindless sadism with no character or quality writing behind it. That movie was "saw." My friends who read this, i trust you to have better taste than to see its sequel, to encourage mtv cinematography and immature attempts at philosophy to justify what is ultimately a perverted, voyeuristic movie with no depth or enjoyment factor on any level. But if anyone happens on this entry randomly, i ask you to please not see "saw two," it does not deserve your money. if you're going to the movies, see either an entertaining movie, as Wallace and Gromit or perhaps Zorro may be or see something truly deep and affecting like i hope North Country or the Weather Man may be. Or if you're looking for gore, there's still Hisotry of Violence and Doom. just, please, don't see saw two.
